7th year of ICAD!

1st ICAD of the 2019 Season

1st ICAD of the 2019 Season

I did hem and haw . . . just a little bit. The first day of a new challenge is always exciting and if you are like me, you also wonder WHAT the heck you will do! I reverted to what this challenge has taught me every single year I participate - JUST DO IT!! It doesn’t really matter what you do, it is much more important that you do something. The rest will follow!

Just do something. Mistakes be damned.
— Eliza B.

I used rubber stamps from Joggles.com (the background texture) and A Stamp in the Hand (the alphabet). I wrote and doodled with an OHTO Graphic Liner and a white Uniball Signo pen. The ink pads used were Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress Oxide in ‘wilted violet’ and ‘broken china’. I did spritz with water after stamping for a bit of that oxide effect. I generally write /journal on the back of my index cards and keep them in a little index card book from the office supply store . . .

I am happy to be in this groove again!

I am happy to be in this groove again!

I am going to aim for a variety of techniques for my 61 cards made during June & July. I will follow the themes and prompts probably only some of the time as I am usually a “wing it” type of ICADer! To learn more about this challenge, visit Daisy Yellow Art.

We are what we create, and we create art to bring a piece of ourselves to others.
